WiFi Signal: Strength Analyzer App Reviews

Installed the app; it reported channel 1 in use and recommended using channel 11. Set up the router to use channel 11 and had to reboot the Mac to get the app working again. It then reported channel 11 in use and recommended using channel 1. This doesnt seem like a wildly helpful app.

I have successfully used this app to monitor wifi routers everywhere I go with my mac. I have helped many friends find a better channel to improve their wifi. I have even helped a couple of companies I know get better wifi in their offices.. All as a good samaratan. I truly appreciate the quality and features this app has to offer and count on it every day.

Does everything that is says it will do. And works like a true Apple app-never causes a problem.

Nice little app that give you status on your WIFI connection. It does give you more info on your connection strength and SN ratio. I like the fact that it scans the WIFI bandwidth and recommended a better channel. You need to be the system/network admin to do this. This is useful for residential users, to find a clear channel that your neighbors arent using. You still need another app to scan for access points in the area. I use iStumbler for that purpose. I saw that the author also has one too. But I havent tried it yet. Yes, it displays transfer rate in Mb instead of MB. Mb is the normal measurement for WIFI speeds. I dont see an issue with this. I found this useful and will keep it.

Simply Alt-Click on the Wi-Fi logo in the menu bar to get the same infomration. I removed the application.

Not only does this app provide no useful information, it bogged down my internet and used up all my RAM.

Used to be good but now crashes in Maverick upon starting up. This needs to be fixed right away!!!

Please add support to display Wi-Fi adapter IP address in menu.

It’s nice to have a simple indicator for signal strength, along with recommendations for better channels. I never have any problems with this app. It just works.

I can’t thank the author of this app enough. I was having so much trouble with my network, I even bought another airport extreme to extend it and nothing was helping. I move routers all over blindly…until I found this app! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! I now know, can visually see, and have instant feedback on the changes I am making. I always found routers to be the biggest pain in the …but with this app it finally makes sense of it all!!! I’m surprise the Airport Utiility doesn’t include this functionality. It seems so fundamental getting the best out of the product. It gives great advice/feedback on location, channel selection and whether or not an additional router/bridge makes a difference. This is a very nice application. It shows a lot of info that helps me to determine the best network to connect to as well as the best places to place my computer for the optimum signal. My compliments to the developer!

Very handy for spot checking which AP I’m on at any given moment. Keep it open all day.

This is a really handy app. I leave it running all day long to be able to monitor the health of a corporate network.

I have been using Wifi Signal for a couple of years now and it has always been so useful. It helps me know if I have a connection and how strong that connection is and the developers have been making it better and better every time they update it.

This handy little tool is great for a college student on a big campus. I use this to judge the various wifi networks around campus. I also have used this to improve my own network. Thank you for making this free.
