Have used this for a while and it has been most helpful. Clearly and simply gives you the information you need. Requires little explanation.

I find myself using this app quite a bit at work! I am an IT support guy, doing networking and general support for local businesses. This app is wonderful at finding areas of weak signal, places where a booster or range extender would work well, and places where the channel is congested. If you’ve ever been curious why the wifi seems less than stellar in some part of your home or office, you owe it to yourself to get this app and check it out. Excellent app!

Great app. I’d been trying to eliminate a dead spot for wifi in my house via a range extender and this app was perfect for diagnosing and solving the problem.

Well designed app with enough configuration options to serve a variety of troubleshooting needs. I was setting up a house with three wireless access points and needed to see the BSSID I was connected to. Having it visible instead of option-clicking the WiFi icon is great, and the channel recommendations boosted my speed too.

This is a fantastic tool that is more than worth the price. I been using this scanner for a few years now and it is truly indispesible for me. This is really is a professional level tool for helping you get a quick assessment of your WLAN. My favorite feature is the “Advanced” tab. This tab reveals the IEs (information elements) in the probe requests of clients and gives you a lot of information you normally only see if packet captures.The amount of information and detail you get form this app is amazing. Also, the developer is very responsive to feature requests and bug reports and the app is regularly updated. There are not many pro-level wireless tools for Mac and this is a great one.

I bought this app to help analyze the precise location of wifi dead spots in houses where I live or visit. It’s done the trick, and shown me how much better the 2.4GHz option is for going through walls than the tempting newer 5GHz. Without the clear percentages offered by the app, I’d still be using 5GHz because it is freer of interference from other devices and gadgets. Brick walls and HVAC stacks are the main culprits, and WiFi Signal is an inexpensive way to figure out the best frequency and channel to cope with the problems. There is a granularity of display options for the menu bar that is very helpful and unique. In short, I believe you can purchase this app for your Mac with confidence that you’re getting your money’s worth — and more.

If you switch networks fairly often, this utility is a godsend. Quick view to the wifi performance and network you’ve connected to without having to dig through the wifi advanced menu is enough, but all the extra information just makes it a no-brainer. Get this utility.

I love this app, and have recommended it to many other Mac users. Additional future enhancements - anything from 802.11k possible?

The Apple wifi widget is laughably useless. Yeah, it’ll tell you the basic strength of your signal, but if you want to really know, just get this app. It hangs out in your menubar and gives you both a better view of your wifi signal, and an impressive little display of details, including signal over time, and SNR (noise floor) or percentage views. Everything you could want in an extremely needed tool for this age of ubiquituous wifi!

I recently switched from a wired mac mini to a wifi enabled macbook and this utility has been a godsend in giving me real time data on my current connection. I can flop between 2.4G and 5G and see how I’m doing in different parts of the house. You can setup the utility to instantly tell you that you probably should switch your wifi channel. I originally found wifi signal from the dev’s other tool wifi explorer, but this tool is probably better for the novice person to give instant wifi stats feedback. I don’t write a lot of reviews, but this tool was better than expected. I hope the dev. keeps up the great work.

Apple’s signal strength shows full, but deep down you know that isn’t true. This utility gives you the real story. Invaluable tool, well written, never crashes, frequenly enhanced — A MUST HAVE!

Love this app. It is the first networking app to help me figure out problems with my wireless. Simple to use and understand. Love it.

This is a great app in many ways, but when it is running I have measured cyclical Wi-Fi throughput degredataion, as if the app causes the Wi-Fi to go off channel and scan/listen. This is probably not a problem for most people, who many not even notice it, but if you are doing any kind of throughput testing, I recommend you not have this app running at the time.
